I’m Sujan Oli — a theatre practitioner, IB Drama educator, storyteller, and creative facilitator who believes in the power of art to inspire inquiry, connection, and transformation.

My Approach
I believe education and art begin with curiosity.
Like theatre, learning is alive — it grows through questioning, observing, creating, failing, and discovering. I see every student and every artist as someone with a unique voice waiting to be explored, not simply instructed.
My approach is rooted in creativity, human connection, and meaningful experience. Rather than giving answers, I try to create spaces where ideas can breathe, where collaboration matters, and where imagination becomes a way of understanding the world.
For me, theatre is not only performance.
Education
Sujan Oli holds a Master’s degree in English Literature with academic exposure to drama and theatre studies. He completed his Bachelor of Arts at St. Lawrence College, affiliated with Tribhuvan University.
He has also completed acting diploma training at Theatre Village Nepal and Actor Studio Nepal, strengthening his foundation in performance, character work, and stagecraft within contemporary theatre practice.
In addition, he has undergone professional training and evaluation within the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework. Alongside his formal education, his learning has been deeply shaped by over a decade of practica l theatre experience through performance, directing, facilitation, and arts education.

Production & Technical Theatre Experience
The Foundation:
My transition into professional theatre was deeply rooted in the technical craft. For over three years, I immersed myself in backstage operations, collaborating closely with leading Nepalese theatre companies, including Theatre Village Nepal, One World Theatre, Actors Studio, and Aarohan Gurukul.
Multidisciplinary Technical Roles:
Across more than 10 major productions, I developed a comprehensive, hands-on understanding of stagecraft, serving as a Stage Manager, Assistant Stage Manager, Light Operator,
and Sound Operator.
Theatre Village Residency:
For five immersive years, Theatre Village was essentially my home. Living and working within the space 24/7 gave me an invaluable, exhaustive education in the operational realities of a working theatre—deepening my understanding of both onstage performance and
backstage execution.
Looking Ahead:
My journey in theatre and education is just beginning. I aspire to pursue advanced studies in drama and education, gaining global experience and insights. My long-term vision is to bring this knowledge back to Nepal, creating creative spaces through theatre and storytelling that inspire imagination, nurture empathy, and empower future generations.
